Love that The Entertainer encourages visits to restaurants I would not have tried before.Skelligs (named after the islands) at Erinvale Estate is a well known pub offering good old favourites and in fact it’s menu is called just that.Most renowned is its 200g burger; a juicy hand made patty topped with a grilled brown mushroom, layers of streaky bacon, smothered in melted cheese & topped with a red pepper puree. Heavenly! Out of a table of 10; 7 ordered the famous burger. The beer battered hake gourjons & chips were fresh & crispy. The soup of the day was steamy vegetable and the portions are very generous.The decor is typical old Irish, the restaurant is immaculate and the staff are congenial and helpful.Strolling around the beautiful estate after lunch to enjoy the manicured lawns and gardens leaves one feeling with a relaxed calm.
