This place exceeded my expectations – wasn’t sure what to expect but I had a great meal here. Would recommend the cheese board. After eating we went for a walk around the grounds to the historic site and it was great – and the herb gardens and rose gardens. Loved it!

We booked for 12pm at the Stables restaurant yet when we arrived there were plates and cutlery for all the tables stacked on our table. As we sat waiters proceeded to move chairs and benches around not assisting us but walking past. 20 minutes had gone by and I had to go to the front desk to get some service. They then offered us a spot outside on a rainy day which I politely declined. After ordering our food and drinks they arrived quickly. The mussels were fresh yet the sandwich my mom ordered were more leaves than anything else. I will not be returning. The farm is gorgeous but met with terrible service.
Vergelegen is a stunning estate and lunch at their Stables restaurant is a treat. The menu is kid friendly, and the food is pretty good too. The salad is just perfect, while my boys love their pizza. I tried the chicken burger on my most recent visit and thought it was one of the better ones I’ve had anywhere. Would happily visit again.
