Simply a perfect fine dining experience. There is nothing to fault. The restaurant and views are incredible, the service was perfect and the food was sublime. Don’t make the mistake I did and skip dessert though. Well worth their place in the top 5 SA restaurants.
The food is below par for a fine dining restaurant. The service is awful, we had side plates and used butter knives still on our table when dessert was served. Our wine glasses remained empty for 15-20 minute intervals.

Had the most amazing birthday dinner amongst the beautiful rolling hills of the Waterkloof Vineyard. We were served complementary Sparkling wine on arrival and escorted to our table. For starters we had the langoustine and king mushroom dishes. The hollandaise source was slightly tangy but otherwise the starters were lovely. The beef short rib main was perfection and the meat was succulent and well accompanied by various purees. There were limited vegetarian options so the main was quite simple with a medley of vegetables. For dessert we asked for their most popular which was the whiskey and rum desserts. They were both decadent and rich and a perfect conclusion to our courses. The palate cleansers and concluding sweets were lovely compliments to the meal.
Had a wonderful food and wine pairing at the number 1 restaurant in South Africa. The food and the wine pairing was good. I loved the seabass was my absolute favorite of all the dishes. That dish was just amazing and I wanted more. All the food and wine pairing were great but the dessert was a bit disappointing for me. The Camembert Crème Brûlée lacked a bit of sweetness and that what the dessert is all about for me. I didn’t get the Curry biscuit wasn’t to my liking. I had a taste of the other dessert the Vanille Bleue. Was so delicious and had a bit of food envy as that one was better than the dessert I have chosen. Also rather stick to one person to explain the food and wine pairing that is assigned to your table.
