Food was below par, the dishes seemed rushed and not well prepared. Waitress did have a clue about the menu and could not recommend anything good. The sommelier was decent though and was able to recommend a good wine. But the food spoilt it all.

Amazing food and service and even more amazing wine list.Mains were great. Fish was grilled to perfection and deserts were great to share. The creme brulee was particularly flavourful but not overpoweringly sweet. Wine list was extensive but was made easy with a rating system to help pick according to what ypu prefer.Great restaurant!

Wonderful atmosphere and layout. We walked in and it was packed. We moved from out initial table as it was close to the stairs and we were being bumped. Lovely entertainment. Thereafter our experience took a u-turn. Our waiter was unattentive: 30 mins for breads ticks, the food took almost an hour to arrive, our starter and side veg had been forgotten. After an apology our waiter then made a race related comment about us, to us. We opted not to stay any longer. I escalated this to a wonderful lady named Aritha. She apologised profusely and squashed our bill. Very people centric. She advised I’d receive a call from.the restaurant which I never got. The lamb bredie and steak were delicious. V&A chicken was dry. It’s a pity as the food was good.

I didn’t have a good experience at this restaurant. We waited a very long time to place our orders and then an even longer time to get our food and drinks. It made no sense because outside of our table, the were only two other tables occupied so it was not busy at all. We even waited a long time after our meal to pay for our bill! The staff really didn’t seem to care much. I ordered the chicken schnitzel which was dry and not very tasty. None of my friends enjoyed their meals either.

Probably a bit touristy, however they do serve nice african dishes especially for someone who’s never been exposed. I particularly love the bobotie (mince meat & egg) and waterblommetjie bredie (stews) . True comfort food when cape town’s weather is cloudy!
