The boat trip is really something that can be enjoyed as a romantic evening. The view on the boat is really something to see. From when we made our booking to when we finished, the crew of the alba made us feel so welcome it was as if we where at home. Gourmet food, with a gourmet taste. I would recommend that of u have a chance u should go out and make a point of joining then on crews.
DO NOT BOOK FOR THE ALBA BOAT RESTAURANT!!!! I booked for this restaurant for 4th January and paid in advance. I got a phone call a day before to inform me my evening with my international guests are cancelled due to not having obtained the proper licencing yet, and that the boat will only be able to leave the harbour at the end of January. I booked again at the end of January for 3 March, as this was surely enough time to get licencing. I also thought that surely they would not still do online bookings if they don’t have any licence. Again a day before the booking for a birthday dinner was cancelled. I have been left without plans on 2 important occasions. And I am still waiting for a refund after almost 2 weeks. This instiutution clearly does not know a thing about hospitality.
Friendly and quick service, good wine, but the food is nothing to write home about, and for the price you pay it is quite dissapointing. Overall a mediocre experience.
Excellent Service and food. Friendly staff. What more do you want?We enjoyed the afternoon cocktails. Spent the afternoon as a part surprise outing for my wife’s birthday. Relaxing atmosphere paired with good food and wine. What a pleasant surprise to travel for two hours within the confines of the harbor. Saw sites of the harbor that normally is out of bounds for public
Dave and I were invited to have lunch at The Alba Restaurant, a cruise and dine experience at the V&A Waterfront. The Alba Restuarant. It is important to keep in mind that the cruise part of the experience takes place within the Waterfront. You will not go out into Table Bay, and this was quite a disappointment. More so because our booking was postponed twice due to the wind situation. They cannot leave their mooring if the wind is blowing. And I cannot see why they don’t just stay tied up if they don’t actually go anywhere. We spent most of the cruising time outside of the fish factories, looking at trawlers and office blocks.
