What a sad disappointment! The service, although warm and friendly, seemed forced or contrived, almost as if the waiters saw themselves as part of some sort of theatrical performance. It was a bit much and got to be tedious almost right away. More importantly, my food was served cold and was a lot less tasty than the Ethiopian food plate I bought at a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Johannesburg at a price 4x less. I found myself in a rush to leave since the whole experience was so dissatisfying. Do yourself a favor and consider other options before dining at this restaurant. You’ll count yourself lucky for having done so!

Definitely worth a visit to try a new cuisine but I’m unsure Addis in Cape is a must visit if you are on a short visit to Cape Town.  My boys who are finicking eaters (but how love using their hands to eat!) had no problem digging in.  Food was tasty, although one of the beef dishes was still too spicy for most of us (the waiter said he could accommodate our tastebuds but the kitchen may not have gotten the message), and it was an overall fun experience.  Only disappointment was the fried bread starter that comes with the set, as it wasn’t fresh/crispy and the portion was very small.

A wonderful and hopefully authentic experienceA meal great for sharing with friends and enjoying casual company. Fun flavors to widen your palette. Although food is not very filling, it is more of a light meal and more so for the experience itself.
