Racism at its Peak!I Arrive at the cafe only to be told to wait in que on the basis that they are ‘full’. While Multiple white patrons walk freely into the cafe.The que of which only consisted of ‘non-white’people. This is a clear example of indirect discrimination.I was ill treated and felt violated. Judging from the reviews it seems as though this establishment has always gotten away this.
I host a monthly burger meetup, we opted for Arcade Cafe. Noticing the burger special, this was a must try. The portions are large and come at +-R70 with the special. There is an ample selection of drinks and the staff are attentive.We loved there burgers enough, that we are considering returning for another meetup this year.
Ordered a cheese burger for takeaway. Loads of cheese!! As in a gastric bypass waiting to happen amount of cheese, was placed on top of a burger patty that tasted like a vinegar frikkadel. The burger was ok, but I expected so much more. The burger came with loads of fries. One thing’s for sure – you’ll be stuffed after this meal. But you won’t leave thinking this was a great burger.
I’ve always heard about racist incidents at arcade but personally never had a bad experience until tonight. The details would take up more that the allowed letters but just know that arcade is very racist. The manager in particular, but please see attached pictures :). DISGUSTED in the behavior displayed and i most certainly will not be returning, including 20 other friends who were in our party. Arcade is the perfect example of a post-Apartheid place which treats POC patrons as dirt. I don’t care for an apology
