Well this was a disappointment. First gatsby in over a year and I nearly died choking on the dryness. I love the Mariam’s on the foreshore, but this one does not even come close.
First gatsby experience ever! It was huge and the portion sizes were still too much to handle even after getting it cut into five but so worth it for the pride of saying I’ve eaten a proper Cape Town meal! Highly recommend the masala steak, it wasn’t oily and they were generous with the spice. The chips were awesome.
One of my favorite take outs has to be Mariam’s kitchen, their food is always fresh and consistent whenever I go there. Very clean and neat, I always enjoy eating here. This time I settled for a masala steak sandwich which was lovely.
The steak gatsby would be very good if it wasn’t so dry. It’s a nice size too, but they should definitely add more sauce. I will try the one on the foreshore next.
