On my recent return to Cape Town, I felt to try some vegan food. Wandering around town I came across Plant. I opted to try their wrap. I enjoyed the texture and taste, though the side of fries were quite sad and floppy (oily). Would possibly recommend as a takeaway on the app but the presence of so many flies, creates on overly earthy experience that was not to my palette.
Food is good, bao buns are quite dry, however the mushroom rice paper wraps are good, as well as cauliflower wrap and carrot lox. However, they can definitely work on their service, it’s quite slow and staff aren’t the friendliest.
Mushroom burger with cheese is not grilled mushrooms with cheese on top. It’s an entire block of fried cheese with mushrooms on top! Ugh! That’s too much cheese even if it is vegan. Guy making tortillas shouldn’t use his cell phone while preparing food. Why doesn’t he wear a hair net like he makes the African women wear? Kombucha was flat and too sweet. Not brewed, fermented fully. Friendly service is easy to come by in South Africa, but NOT HERE!!! Slow, poor service.
