Not exactly a restaurant as decor goes, Sheba is in the lobby of the Kings Hotel. We lived in East Africa for many years and developed a big love for Ethiopian cuisine. I have tried most Ethiopian restaurants in Cape Town and just not found quite the real thing and found many rather expensive, in East Africa we would go out for Ethiopian at least once a week as the food is delicious, addictive and affordable..Then a friend took me to Sheba at the Kings Hotel. Oh my the food is good and affordable.The decor is interesting to put it politely. Clearly the owner likes to decorate. The Kings is an old Victorian building so one is rather surprised at the red chandeliers and slightly James Bond on a budget furniture. Sheba restaurant is under a plastic grape arbour with neon lighting. Clean standard hotel tables with white cloths and excellent service. The food makes it all worth it and the lobby has a well stocked bar which also serves the restaurant.
