Ah, the night before the public holiday and not a soul in Cape Town was asleep – as they were here, apparently! Good music, great karaoke section, clean bathrooms, and friendly and swift barmen. All in all, a winner, I’d say.
A go to place for karaoke night. The drinks aren’t great and the decor leaves alot to be desired. However after a few drinks, its a great place to head to with friends. The staff are quite friendly and accommodating.
I don’t like this venue very much for the two reasons that it’s really pricey with their drinks. And the ventilation is terrible. It got so hot in the venue that I almost passed out. Really need to install air-conditioning. I am talking about the upstairs venue where bands usually play. Very uncomfortable.
Who doesn’t love a Friday night round of karaoke?! Even if you’re not keen to get up on stage, it’s just as much fun to sing along from the packed dancefloor. I don’t think it’s possible to have a bad evening at Manila- the entrance fee and drink prices are reasonable. There’s even a room you can hire so that you and your close mates can do some karaoke privately if you’re not up to a main stage performance 🙂
