The Bloomin’ Daisies trailer with its cheerfully-painted flowers beckons from a Cape Town roof deck, and I booked Grand Daddy Hotel without hesitation. . I failed to see the flaw in my plan. Having never stayed in an airstream trailer, I had no idea how little space I had to share with a larger man.

Wanting to pop into Loaves on Long for an early morning breakfast, but unfortunately they were still closed. Decided to cross the road and try out Thirty-Ate instead. Had the pancakes with fruit, bacon and maple syrup. These pancakes tasted like the flapjacks you find in the frozen food aisle. Not good at all. The bacon is nice and crispy though. Service was super friendly and very quick. Their lunch/dinner menu looks more promising and perhaps I’ll return for that instead.
It was a buzzy night when we came here so the vibe was good, food was good but nothing really memorable. Drinks upstairs at the rooftop bar recommended.
Thank you for this one restaurant that was open this morning.I was really surprised that most places in Cape Town is closed on Sundays.Had a really nice omelette with friendly, quick service. And the prices are standard. Will definitely be my #1 option for a decent Sunday breakfast in Cape Town.
