I was very excited to do an ice cream tasting for the first time. It was a little disappointing to be honest. – You can’t choose your own flavors- The flavors they choose isn’t very good. Some literally tasted like nothing. – The service wasn’t friendly at all. The presentation and idea is really cute, but I wish I could taste my own ice cream. I really wanted to have the espresso flavor. The ones we get was a little tasteless and NOT my taste. The only one I loved was the chocolate brownie.
What a quaint little cafe situated in a lovely spot at the Spice route. We stopped by yesterday after lunch for ice-creams. The peanut butter, espresso and chocolate flavours were all a hit! The best thing was being able to sit and chat at the tables outside (there are tables inside but it was full) while enjoying our sugar cones and the hot weather. Staff are easygoing and quick to assist.
Since Spice Route expended on it’s offerings some places have just expanded so fast that a lot of what made these places special has been lost. Such is the nature of business I guess. For me a real peeve was waking in and wanting to grab some coffee beans and not knowing what was what because non of the packages had a flavor profile like on the past packaging. The barista all full of nonsense was so not helpful either rushing through the array of beans on offer. Basically what was bespoke is now “pick you colour” because that all you can gauge from if you don’t have a useless barista next to you when picking beans. The only save for this little spot it the sorbet, I tasted both the mango and the berry one and both were full of flavor. My coffee was meh – and not like I remembered it. The care factor has dropped a bit. It makes me sad because I’m a huuuuuuuge fan of the DV brand and have been since they first opened their doors with their chocolate offering.
A lovely place for coffee, ice cream or chocolaty treats. Had two scoop of ice cream, one being banoffee and the other mint dark chocolate. A bit of an interesting combination, but alone both were heavenly with rich flavour.
Just the place to end off your visit to the Spice Route complex. A wide selection of mouthwatering ice creams and sorbets on offer, either as individual servings or as tasting platters. Their brownies can further be recommended.
