Loved the wine tasting here, it was quite flexible dependent on your tastes, a selection of 6 wines are offered. Outdoor patio seating or indoor. A snack menu is available with pizzas, burgers, cheese or you can get more substantial meals at Lust restaurant. We opted for a cheese and meats platter which included breads and jams. The artisan wines stand out and if you lucky they sell you a few. Good friendly and knowledgeable staff that you end up joining their wine club.
Visited Lust Bistro for lunch and had the quinoa salad starter portion. My mom had the fishcakes. Food was tasty and almond cappuccino was very good, but very limit choice of mains and significantly overpriced.
The Vrede and Lust wine Estate was a very unpleasant experience. We joined the wine tram experience and had a pleasant day until arriving at the farm where the just treated us like we not valued guests. The advertise a chocolate wine pairing for 25pp and when we asked for the chocolate they just said it’s not available for us (rudely told us the wine tram experience should have reserved chocolate for us). They gave us a Jess rose taste (not a full glass) instead and charged us R40 when the whole bottle cost 75. We only tasted that and we got treated very badly when we said we prefer to have a wine and chocolate tasting and would move to the next farm in stead.I would definitely not recommend this wine farm to guests who want to experience a unique tasting. Being served a rose wine with an attitude is definitely not something you need to travel all the way from Italy for.
We stumbled upon this gem whilst exploring Paarl. Gorgeous views from the outside balcony. We were convinced to try the Lindt and wine pairing which was great, even for novice wine drinkers. I enjoyed the Chenin Blac and the Shiraz but that’s down to personal preference. Staff are friendly and accommodating
