We had a marvelous time today. The host greeted us with such warmth and kindness. Our waitress was attentive and efficient. We decided on the menu of the day and had amazing biltong and port soup. After that we had a beautiful bowl full of polenta and lamb shank. And to top it all I had the date pudding with a caramel sauce and the chef was so kind to give my husband cheese cake instead of date pudding, which he does not care for. We will definitely go there again.

I would have expected a bit more of a welcoming from the staff and chef. Unfortunately the waiting staff never engaged us with knowledge nor could recommendations be offered upon our requests. The hostest tried her best and I commend her for her smile and trying to help where she can. Unfortunately the food fell flat on its face, the pasta special was a let down and the portions inconsistent. The pasta was bland and when asked for some cheese, we were blatantly refused. Tasteless food which needs urgent attention. The major problem from what could be concluded is the chef, he is rude and chases his patrons away from spots outside the restaurant. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant to friend and family in its current lulled state.

A fabulous scenic country restaurant. I had the Yellow Tail on bed of salad that is a delicious health on a plate. The resident ostrich gave us a dance.

We were staying at the BnB and decided to have dinner at the restaurant. Had an absolutely delicious sirloin with marrow bone, cooked to perfection with lovely shoe string fries and vegetables. Had to get help to finish the steak. We had the Doolhof Dark lady to go with it – excellent and finished off with some of the house brandy which was also excellent. Highly recommend.

What an awesome experience! This place is highly recommended. The food is excellent and the service impeccable. If you’re looking for some good wine and great food in Wellington, this has to be on your list of restaurants to visit. The bitterballen were exceptional (with home made mustard), the risotto was wonderful and the Dutch pancakes are a must.
