Beautiful surrounds and a stunning tasting room. The red wines are absolutely delicious and we found a real bargain in the Cape Boar red blend. The Dark Lady and Malbec both appealed to my taste buds and all 3 options are taking a drive home with us. Presentation of your tasting wines is very elegant but it would be nice to have a little more interaction with someone who knows a bit more about the wines, instead of just reading the information from the order form. There are picnics on offer too and I could well imagine a lazy afternoon out here, with some excellent company and far too much wine.
If you in Paarl add a wine tasting and picnic at Doolhof Tasting Room to your to do list. As you drive into the wine farm, you are surrounded by lush greens and horses.the wine tasting takes place upstairs and after the experience you are given your picnic basket with another bottle of wine to complete the day.You can choose any spot for your picnic. we were among the horses and the rolling lawns.The wines range from earthy, to chocolate, to berries and are really delicious. the mountains and amazing weather just add that extra touch to the experience. The food was so good. We had biltong, cheese, crackers, kiwi, pasta with pesto and feta, zesty chicken wraps, Moroccan meatballs and dark chocolate squares smothered in dark chocolate sauce with a cherry. Every food item was packed with flavor and had its own unique taste.It was definitely packed with Love!!Its such an amazing experience and the food was way above my picnic expectations.
