At first we were wondering if the service was going to be dodgy because we had to wait a while initially, but it actually turned out to be really good. The food was amazing. Started off with a garlic pizza bread which was fantastic. We shared pasta dishes and both were very tasty. I highly recommend the gin cocktail menu they have on offer. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for some Italian.

Sitting reading all these great reviews and feeling a bit sad about ours. The views are great and we had travelled from our holiday in Rawsonville to try it (45 min drive). Initially our waitress (who has been complimented here) was super unfriendly and seemed less than pleased to be working. Anyway she warmed up to us. We had a pesto and tomato focaccia which was AMAZING. Then I ordered the Spaghetti Alio e Olio (one of my absolute Italian favourites) and my partner ordered the tagliatelle ragu. When mine arrived the olive oil (or something) was brown – which was my first shock – and then it had freshly chopped chunks of chili. It was so spicy that neither of us could eat it. The tagliatelle was a tad over done but the ragu was nice. We asked the waitress to please make an exception since the kitchen had since closed and get a pizza because I couldn’t eat the pasta. She was happy to do so and removed the pasta from the bill. When the pizza arrived the base was THICK – like Romans thick and the pizza was soggy. We honestly couldn’t send it back as it was the replacement for the first mistake and we didn’t want to fight more. Then it started raining while we were sitting outside with a bunch of other tables and when moving inside the place had already been “closed up” in a sense. All the chairs were on the tables and someone was already mopping. Some customers decided to just call it and go home but we had fresh drinks so we reluctantly sat at a booth with the chairs on the table still. I really wanted this to be our new favourite Italian joint and given the reviews I read before going we were very disappointed. There was also no sign of a manager coming around to tables to ask how things were. I’m sure we just got the kitchen on a rushed day since we arrived at 2:30 and the kitchen closes at 3 but I still wish we had experienced the amazing food that the other reviews did because now we probably won’t return.
What a gem in Wellington. I never knew this restaurant existed, but I’m so glad we found it. They have a stunning terrace where you can enjoy the spectacular 270 degree view of the mountains, vineyards and endless blue skies. We had pasta and pizza and both were delicious. The service was friendly, but not particularly memorable. I’d definitely come back again on a nice summer’s day for some pizza. And on a cold winter’s day for a hearty pasta dish. Basically, it’s the perfect place to visit all year ‘round for good pizza and pasta.
