In summary: Good food(ordered the ribs), lovely location but poor service. I really enjoyed their ribs, the meat came right off the bone and had good flavor. I would have rated this place higher had the service not been so poor.

Came here on a lovely Saturday morning for breakfast. The scenery and setting is amazing. Lovely tables outside between the guava trees. Service was wonderful – friendly staff. The coffee was quite disappointing unfortunately. The food was fine. I ordered the french brioche with bacon, and my wife the poached eggs with smoked salmon and cream cheese. It wasn’t anything to get too excited about, but we had a good morning. There is great spots for kids to play and a petting zoo area.

We decided to spend the weekend in Wellington because Mands is running the Safari Half Marathon tomorrow. We met up for breakfast with friends, who are staying at Dunstones Wine Farm and Guest House. Breakfast is great value for money and delicious. We both had the omelette, both were well-made and tasty. Our friend had the pancakes, which were a little underwhelming and served with artificial version of maple syrup, while our other friend was totally satisfied with the full English. The coffee is a little weak, but that’s because I like my spoon to stand up in my first cup of the day. All in all, beautiful scenery, relaxed vibe and a morning well-spent.

We were arranged by our hotel to come to this lovely little restaurant for dinner as we arrived to Cape Town late, we were really surprised on arrival, the decor is quite nice, there’s machinery for wine making, menus are written neatly on blackboards hanging on the walls. We got seated and we had a look around for a good wine, how can you not have wine in the cape!! We chose their wine of the year, Dunstone Shiraz 2013. We even bought a case home with us after having it. The menu choices were limited, but good for those that have problems with making decisions. Haha We were served bread, we had a butternut soup and a chicken salad, wow, what a great start, soup was delicious, chicken salad was very nice as well. For mains, fillet steak, mash, mushroom sauce, steak was done well, that mushroom sauce was so awesome, we even told the chef about how good it was. She was not secretive about it, and tip us off with her little trick. I had a ribs, onion rings and chips. Fantastic ribs falling off the bone, onion rings with thin crispy dough and soft center. We had a passion fruit meringue which was little sour but went well with the sweets meringue and cream! I think it’s great comfort food, just what we needed to unwind from having a long day.
