I had a gluten free margharita pizza here and the others had pasta dishes. The portion sizes are big, which is great because I thought the menu was on the pricey side. My pizza base unfortunately didn’t seem homemade, resembled more a cardboard base, which was a pity! The pizza was also a bit oily, I’m assuming from all the cheese! The pasta dishes both looked and tasted amazing though. The restaurant is really cosy and fun and our waiter was great!
Cute, cozy & friendly family restaurant at the top of Kloof. Nice spot to chill with family and friends for a laid back evening with good food and wine. I had the Pesto pasta which was really delicious – I had mine with gluten free penne (really love the fact that they have a gluten free option). Would definitely come again.
Unfortunately I had a disappointing evening food wise. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Around the table the gourmet pizza was a hit other than that it was mediocre. For me my gritty spinach & ricotta cannelloni was gritty for one the only flavour was salt from the cheese, and they ran out of Tiramisu which is what I was so looking forward to so opted for the panna cotta instead – DON’T DO it! It is bland, tastes like cream while the name says “vanilla pod panna cotta” there is no vanilla bean flavour whatsoever.
Very slow service. We had to call the waiter every time we wanted to order something. He never willingly came to check on our table. It was a public holiday so maybe there were understaffed. What a pity. Usually love this place
Busy venue, so arrive early or reserve a table!Such friendly staff – they’ll all assure you the food is the best in Cape Town, and credit where it’s due – the pizzas are phenomenal! The only critiques:1. Don’t sit near the service hatch where deliveries are collected – it’s loud and intrusive2. Skip the desserts. They’re mediocre, unfortunately. Especially the Panna cotta – too hard, no vanilla flavour. Feels processed, not fresh. Stick to the excellent pizzas and you won’t go wrong!
