Incredible views, a lovely pool and a great deck. The barmen are super friendly and they make a good pizza, even though they could be pre-made and frozen. Love sundowners here.
I’ve been to Cloud 9 a few times, it’s best to go with a group of people when you plan to just catch up in the sun. Don’t expect good service or decent prices (unless you have the entertainer that is.) The bar service is dreadfully slow and the pizza’s are small, but if you want a chilled afternoon it’s a good option, the 360 view is beautiful!
While we couldn’t go to the top of Table Mountain due to strong winds, we had a lovely (but still windy) afternoon at the rooftopbar. Views are stunning, plenty of seating and a pool on the lower deck. Had a nice pizza and a not very special bottle of Belville Sauvignon Blanc. Perfect spot to spend a few hours, relaxing and enjoying the view!
The view from the rooftop is amazing, with 360 view of table mountain and lions head. There’s a rooftop pool which I imagine is great in summer. The pizzas were good and we were excited to use our entertainers for the food and drinks. The staff seemed to be quite over stretched and stressed. The drinks weren’t particularly good, I found the cocktails sickly sweet and my friend had such old mint in his that it was going brown and soggy. The wine was a slightly safer option to enjoy the view.
Cloud 9 has the best, and I mean, THE BEST view of Table Mountain and surrounds. If you sit right at the top (smoking area) you have a 360 degree view of the city bowl and surrounding mountain ranges. It’s absolutely stunning. The service was a bit slow, but you’re so relaxed up there, it didn’t bother us too much. The view made up for any qualms we might have had. The food was quite nice too – the Caprese Skewers and Zucchini Fritters were delicious! The kitchen was also kind enough to make us an off-menu pizza, which we really appreciated. We stayed for hours just soaking up the incredible view, enjoying the cosmopolitan music and sipping on not overly priced drinks. I will definitely go back for the view and to just have a super chilled, relaxing afternoon/evening out and watch the sun set over Cape Town’s most beautiful mountain.
