I was walking along Kloof and tempted to try this pizza. I opted for a standard margarita, this is my baseline when reviewing pizza. The pizza held together fairly poorly. The pizza sauce was a bit too acidic and the pizza slightly too dry (been under the heat lamp too long?). Maybe recommended as a late night snack when you need a quick bite?
I ordered ahead of time over the phone but by the time I arrived to collect, they messed up my order and I had to wait anyway. They did make it up to me by adding extra pepperoni and cheese though which was nice. Apart from the service and the awkward location (it’s difficult to find a parking in Claremont Main Road) the guys behind the counter are talkative and friendly. The pepperoni pizza itself was huge and loaded with flavour. They also got the crispy base spot on! I really dig the New York vibe and I can vouch that it tastes basically exactly the same as the real deal!
