We had such a great time here. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The staff made us comfortable and offered us drinks while we waited for our table. We got the warthog curry and herbed chicken. Both were excellent with really large portions. The restaurant was buzzing throughout and had a great atmosphere.
We went out for my sister in law’s birthday last night. The food was nice but not anything fantastic. The service was attentive and the water knowledgeable. Unfortunately our meal was completely overshadowed by the manager refusing to allow the half bottle of wine left to be taken. We eat out every week and this has never happened before.
Was so looking forward to eating at this highly spoken about restaurant in the heart of Bree Street. I was however highly disappointed with the reception I received by the manager. After being placed at a table near the kitchen (which was inevitably warm) we attempted to move the table further away from the kitchen only to be met by a rude and unhelpful manager who insisted we had “overstepped the line”. The waitrons then attempted to help us after our unpleasant encounter with the manager. Very disappointed.
My absolute favourite restaurant in Cape Town – never disappoints!Booking well in advance is essential – this place is popular for good reason. The dishes are fresh, tasty and indulgent without being that usual Cape Town thing of being too finicky or pretentious. The menu is a novel take on international standards and expresses creativity in the superbly matched flavours in each dish. The desserts are a warm and seductive treat not to be missed!
