What a lekker spot! Lots of character and excellent food. I ordered the mushroom poached eggs with bacon. Service was a little slow but the shop was rather busy.
We walked past the place at first looking for something abit different from this, however we ended turning back after seeing there menu.The staff were all friendly and available when needed. The atmosphere was welcoming, however the music was abit too loud. When asked them to turn it down abit by another table they did so promptly. Now getting to the food, the food was superb. I had the chicken and cherry tomatoe pasta with a creamy sauce which was devine and my boyfriend had the calamari and potatoe curry, which could have had abit more calamari in, but was still delicious. Portion sizes were generous and of value. It was a great experience in a restaurant that has a variety of traditional South African dishes to offer.
Lovely place located on the main road of Kalk Bay. Perfect place to come if you looking for a good wholesome meal when in the area. They offer great breakfast, lunch and dinner options. They serve alcohol as well and their service is on point.
What was good:The view & the service.Food was okay – my steak was served well done and when sent back to the kitchen for a medium rare steak as requested, they finally sent it back they way I initially requested so I was a bit peeved.The bredie was also okay.not amazingly tasty food for the prices so average I guess.again – nice view & service!
Stopped by for afternoon tea (after being turned away from Cape to Cuba). Those glorious cakes were calling my name from a mile away. We ordered a slice of the chocolate cake and a slice of the carrot cake!! The chocolate cake was good, but that carrot cake was next level!! Wow!! Service was friendly and prompt. Place is super trendy and chic. Love that the owner supports her friends by displaying their artwork in the cafe for sale. All around just good vibes!! I’ll definitely be back for food.
