Atmosphere cosy – great for a couple. Food was tasty – we both ordered the chicken & tagliatelle which was a bit homely but the chicken was tender and yummy. Greatest disappointment, however, was our encounter with management. Seems to be run by two ladies – the one was friendly and warm from the start and ran us through the menu. The other, however, was uncomfortably cold and unfriendly – did not say a word as she took our payment nor did she thank us for our patronage or ask about our trip. Most devastatingly, the entire restaurant had to be party to her loud, opinionated and overtly racist comments she was making to a foreign couple at the table next to ours. A dismal representation of South African hospitality. Very disappointing that this will be that couple’s representation of white South African business owners. Will not support this establishment again on this basis alone.
What an amazing experience. A quaint space, that feels like home with the tasty food. The menu is what skim and there isn’t a lot of variety, however the taste of the food and the lovely atmosphere makes up for it.A must visit. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, with a humorous way of detailing the menu to guests.
Brilliant meal. The pizza oven is used to bake some of the meals so the flavours are awesome. We had the chicken along with lamb chops. Service was good but you can see they’ve been doing this for a while and are comfortable. I was hoping they would have had a slightly larger variation for starters as they only had a salad, beef tartar, soup and bobotie spring roll on the menu. The dessert options were also a little lacking – but the fridge cheesecake was pretty good. Nonetheless it was a great meal all round and meal presentation is brilliant.Unique for Knysna and a great blend of fresh flavours in an intimate setting.
Food very good. But a little pricey for South AfricansService good ideal for an intimate dinner for a coupleEscort to your car nice idea as area on main road a little off putting
This place got recommended to us by a friend who stays in Knysna, the steak was delicious although R180 per steak seems a bit pricey for the ambience and service. It is summer right now and neither the air-con or a fan was on which lead to the restaurant being extremely warm. While we were paying we were rudely asked if a tip was added by what seemed to be the manager/owner. I feel this was extremely rude.
