Great spot for some drinks or lunch in Knysna. A proper old pub with a pub style food menu. Very friendly service. Perfect spot if you are staying at the Belvidere Hotel.
We arrived here late last night without a reservation because the other place we wanted to visit was fully booked. This restaurant was also full & I thought we wouldn’t be seated but the waiter asked us to sit outside for a few minutes & made a place for us. The ambience is very warm & cosy like and english pub! The food, however, was very average. We ordered the crab cakes, salt & pepper prawns and the belvedre’s famous bobotie. The crab cakes were the best of the three. I usually don’t like wasting my food but I had no choice last night.
Stunning setting in the little suburb or Belvedere with beautiful gardens in the neat little hotel area. Outdoor seating is under the vibes. Couldn’t ask for friendlier staff and a more beautiful setting. The food is scrumptious- I had a Cobb Salad which was beautifully presented and super yummy. Definitely a place to return to for lunch or even for an afternoon out and sundowners.
