The booking system through dine plan does not work. The menu information on the website was incorrect. The food was delicious (roast lamb) and the service is great.

If you fancy having lunch or dinner in a factory, Chefs is the place for you. Not only has it been designed to look like a factory, but it has gone to the length of capturing the sounds of a factory as well. The ventilation ducts, exposed as of course they must be in a factory, prove to be super efficient conductors of the sounds of the air conditioning motors and fans. If your hearing is less than perfect, voices at the table are inaudible. My wife and I were taken there for lunch by a friend. Attended by eight waters and cooks we ate alone from 1:30 to 2:15 when another diner came in.Chefs has had the economical idea of offering only three dishes – no menu, the dishes are displayed pictorially on a small screen that the waiter brings to the table. The depictions are not very clear, so it is difficult to see what you are ordering. There are no starters, no salads, just three main courses, followed by the brave by I know not how many puddings. I asked if any of the dishes were served with salad. Yes, I was told, there was a pasta dish they was accompanied by a salad of lettuce, asparagus and beans. May I have that without the pasta? No, you have to have them together. That was what I ordered. The dishes were served on trays as in economy class on aircraft: little dishes of unidentifiable this and that, each in its own little bowl, except for the butter to be found melting on a piece of tissue paper. The salad of lettuce, asparagus and beans turned out to be lettuce with about four beans and the same number of asparagus so thin as to be difficult to distinguish from the beans. As for the tortellini, they swam in a well-made tomato soup. I know about al dente, but I also know about uncooked, the tortellini were a combination of both. Escaping into the relative quiet of a trafficky street after the meal was a great relief.

Unbelievable food in a modern trendy setting. We had the prawn starter with an amazing rack of lamb as the main. Highly recommended. Situated close to the CBD of Cape Town.

I know I’m guaranteed quality food every time I visit. I love the concept of the menu changing everyday. Also I find the ambiance quite lovely. I’ve never been a fan of crowded restaurants, so it’s perfect.

Chefs provides diners with a very unique dining experience, doing away with waiters, tipping and even menus. I quite liked the concept of having a very limited menu, which does provide at least one vegetarian option for those who need it. The food was absolutely delicious and the creme brûlée was a highlight of my meal. The atmosphere of the restaurant really added to the whole experience. The service was a bit slow when we wanted to order and ask for the bill but this may be due to the fact that the chefs act as the “waiters” which ma be a bit problematic at very busy times.
