Being from Cape Town, my Boyfriend and I were craving some proper Indian food, so we decided to try out Punjabi Kitchen and what a disaster! I can honestly say it was the worst and the MOST EXPENSIVE butter chicken I’ve ever had! It did not resemble anything to a butter chicken- no tomato base and the worst of all – PEANUTS!!! Thats NOT a proper butter chicken. They also gave us boring white rice – not even basmati!! I should’ve known the meal would not be up to standard when I saw the 1 employee take the naan out of the freezer to heat it.. Needless to say, the Naan was stale, cold and rock hard! Butter naan? No thank you! At a price of approx R168 for a butter chicken, it was by far the most expensive butter chicken ever (if it was any good I would not mind to pay that price). The service was good but unfortunately I’ll never go back.

We went there since we were craving Indian food and the reviews were pretty good. The food was nothing compared to what Indian food should be like- I am Indian, I would know- and the place had a good cemetery vibe going for it. All in all, disastrous. Avoid if you like Indian cuisine.
