Taste of Thailand ( formerly Chai-Yo) – MowbrayOrdered the Chicken satay with peanut sauce dip, red chilli paste chicken curry and the roasted chilli paste stir fried chicken with egg noodles.All the dishes were good but not exceptional. Service could have been a bit better too.Will be leaving for Thailand in 2 weeks to experience the real deal!

Chai Yo is an unsuspecting Thai restaurant in Mowbray. I ordered some takeout and I have a mixed review. I loved the spicy veggie coconut soup. It was creamy and crunchy with a good kick. I also ordered a dish called Eight Angels, which was less impressive. I found it bland and unexciting. It won’t stop me from trying other dishes from Chai Yo though; they have a good selection of vegan options. And I’ll definitely order that soup again!
My boss suggested we visit Chai Yo for my birthday lunch today – I was absolutely blown away! The starters were fresh and on our table in record time. I have the seafood curry (thai hot) and it was wonderully flavoured and just hot enough for my liking. Thank you for my chocolate spring roll desert on the house (they were amazing) – I will definitely be back with my husband soon! Definitely worth a couple of visits!
