I’ve really enjoyed my experiences at Blue Marlon. The sushi is really good value for money with a fairly quick waiting time. If you have an appetite for sushi this is definitely the place to go.
Location is OK if you’re comfortable with street parking in Obz. Service can be quite slow at times. Friendly staff, though. Intimate, cosy setting. Food is good and they have some decent sushi specials. Variety of options as far as drinks are concerned. Good value for money.

I tried their sushi out a few years ago and thought it was decent considering the price, so two of my friends and I decided to try them out again (30 November 2018) and went for the sushi and chinese buffet option, which is priced at R169 per person. Please do yourself a favour and don’t bother trying out this place. The quality of the food is horrible, especially the chinese food. We all had a variety of different dishes, and the menu is quite extensive. I tried calamari, prawn dumplings, crispy tuna, chilli salmon and a chilli salmon cheese spring roll. My friends also tried dishes like hong kong beef, honey chicken and kebabs. Everything was disgusting. Deep fried and drenched in cheap sauce. I tasted one piece of the crispy tuna and chilli salmon and couldn’t have any more. It was so fishy. My friends also struggled to finish their dishes which were either way too sweet or too salty, or just plain bad. The sushi dishes were somewhat better, but that isn’t saying much. The only thing we all actually enjoyed were the salmon handrolls. So, you should only try out Blue Marlin if:a) You don’t have proper taste buds.b) You want to feel sick afterwards.
