This place is very dirty. The tables are greasy, the kitchen looks a bit disgusting.. service is just okay, and so is the food. Im not going back, it was not a good experience.

The early evening vibe at Ganesh is so warm and fuzzy. They have merlot carafes which are such value for money. I had the crayfish samosas as a starter and they were definitely the best samosas I’ve had in Cape Town! For mains I had the Lamb Shank Potjie. It was so amazing I felt like I was eating my mom’s food. The portions are very generous so they are perfect for sharing. Would definitely come back here!

So I ended my shift at the hospital very late and all I wanted was something to eat! My boyfriend fetched me and decided to try out this place as most other restaurants were closed. I was so not disappointed! For a meal at 11pm i was very impressed. I had the falafel pita. Amazing flavor with roasted aubergines, tzatsiki and crispy falafel balls! I will definitely be ordering here every time I work

I really like Ganesh. It has a quirky yet unpretentious vibe and they make surprisingly delicious vegetarian food! Try the roti, the tomato soup, the potato samosas and the falafel. Just thinking about it is making me salivate. What’s up with the recent addition of the daytime joint on the corner though? One time we went around 5 and they didn’t want us to order drinks because they were about to cash up on one side and hadn’t yet opened the bar on the other side. Maybe it’s a licensing complication, but it was frustrating.

Cafe ganesh is the place to be in obz. Great atmosphere for chilled drinks before, after or as a night out. The food is really good and there are several vegetarian options. They are famous for the crayfish samoosas so definitely try those.
