Best venison potjie i have ever eaten. Service was top notch and the food was excellent. Reasonably priced and a very good selection of wines. We made a last minute reservation on our arrival in Oudtshoorn and Jemima’s were very accommodating and that on a Sunday evening! Looking forward to another visit at this great establishment.
What a little gem in the town, we just had a one night stop before heading back to cape Town. We weren’t sure where to have dinner so we decided to walk through the town and have a look at the different restaurants. Jemima’s was the first restaurant we stopped to have a look, and so glad that we did.We were welcomed with friendly faces and who were very accommodating. We had the duck liver and bone marrow starters which were amazing, my fiance could of done with more marrow though, but that’s because he loves it :)For mains we had the confit duck, which portion was huge! It was slightly dry but I wasn’t bothered as the flavors were amazing. My fiance had the trilogy of meat, which was 100g beef, ostrich and venison. He loved it!!All in all was an amazing experience and would love to be back next time we are in Oudtshoorn 🙂
We received absolutely zero service. They don’t have half the beer on their menu, nor any gin. Bad live entertainment. Waited for an hour to try order food, ended up leaving instead.
First South African experience! The salads were really good. We had the cuscus salad and the butternut salad. I preferred the butternut over the cuscus. Everyone thought the chicken in the cuscus salad was really good. I had the meat trilogy: ostrich, beef and venison. I loved the venison, the the beef then the ostrich. The ostrich meat was too chewy for my liking. The staff were friendly and professional. All in all a great experience. Recommend!
