We were from out of town and looking for a good wood fired pizza place. Upon receiving recommendation to go there, we were not disappointed. Unique little restaurant that is literally around the corner from all the main guest houses. Waitress was very friendly and helpfulHighly recommended
After being thoroughly impressed from tasting the restaurants food via take aways, my fiance and I (we are an interracial couple) decided to book a table. The restaurant lived up to its food. Simple pizza di Parma and taggiatelli al Sugo di Pollo was delicious.Price was also very competitive.However when we first entered the premises I had to repeat my name 3 times for the booking with a short haired blonde woman, whom one felt was not keen on dealing with us. The back table was not suitable with no ambience and rather crude looking, and we decided to sit in the front entrance.Another waitress served us. No names were given and service seemed to drag more than normal for us whereas other tables were being served timeously.Our experience with regards to the service is that it was sub standard as compared to a number of restaurants that we have experienced good service at in Oudtshoorn amd there may have been some form of deliberate intent to serve us differently and leave us with a bitter feeling.Food goodService bad.Ambience in the back poor.
I frequent the restaurant often. The food is always excellent, as is the service and I simply love the ambience. My critique today is the brusqueness (to put it mildly) with which we were received by the new hostess. I nearly walked right back out the door, were it not for the usual waitrons who came to seat us and take our orders. Food took in excess of 45 minutes but was worth the wait. Your front of house is just as important as the service during dinner and the quality of food. Consider relooking how your guests are received and be consistent with everything else!
