Raved about by the locals. We did a 10km walk from the new harbour to grotto bay and ended up at the entrance to this restaurant, a welcome sight after the long hot walk . We opted to sit on the beach with our feet in the sand and ordered a variety of cocktails and sushi while listening to the waves crash on the shore. After our delicious snacks we called a tuk tuk taxi to take us back to our hotel, to avoid a further 10km walk. What a wonderful treat after a morning of cliff path walking!

Situated with a view of Grotto Beach is the very unassuming looking Dutchies. This is a lunch stop I can highly recommend with good, friendly service and great food. Lunch in the rain. On a cold and wet winter’s day, Kim and I went for lunch at Dutchies. This had been recommended to us as a perfect spot for lunch I am sure if it was summer they would have been packed. But despite the weather, the majority of tables were taken. Guests included people from Britain, Italy, Australia and South Africans. The fact that the locals eat there is a sign of a great place in my opinion. We chose to sit in the covered outside area. This meant we were out of the hustle and bustle of the main eatery. And had a stunning view of the rain on the water. There are heaters in this area, and lap blankets for those of you who feel the cold.
