We often have breakfast there. Owner is always there and greets us. The food is home cooked style and delicious. Excellent value for money. Tea is served lovely old crockery with a tea strainer to catch the tea leaves! A firm favorite of ours!

Lovely little homey spot that packs in yhe locals day in amd day out. Serving classic, easy SA Cafe foods with a seafood lean.Friendly and affordable. I had an open zarm, twere fine.We had cherry tart after, it too was good. Its a bit home cooked to get the 4th star. Its good but its not worth a repeat.
We were a group of six looking for a breakfast spot before leaving Hermanus. We found the Cuckoo Tree which looked so welcoming, the decor is cute & homely and the owners were very friendly. We got a table outside in their little courtyard. Our breakfast took more than an hour to arrive. When we asked why it was taking so long they said they are making it from ‘scratch’. I had super crunchy brown toast with bacon and an egg – the egg was ice cold. But the cuppacino was yummy. Cute place but bad service and food.
The cuckoo tree is very inviting, they welcomed us to our table and we immediately ordered a beef burger and the fresh fish. Food was ok, they known for their breakfast.
