Warm farmhouse feel with country style cooking. When close to Hermanus then you have to do lunch at Moggs. Hearty meals cooked with love. Lots of flavors and always something interesting and fresh on the menu. This time I tried the Sunday lunch lamb shank. Tender falling off the bone with a sauce you wish wont end. 3 rd visit June2018 just getting better. This time I had the pork belly. This was the best one I tasted to date. Not fatty beautifully prepared tender with a waterblommetjie mash , with a sweet puree, outstanding. One of our guest had the prawn and chicken curry what a winner. Loved the depth of flavors and hint if coconut. We will surely return for many more.
Absolutely beautiful location and spectacular food! A real authentic country experience. The staff were so friendly and the service was top quality. Definitely worth a visit if you’re going to Hermanus for the weekend.
Food heaven!!! Flavours. Textures. Every bite was perfection. Would highly recommend the lamb shank. Best shank I have ever tasted! Service: very good. Ambiance: cosy (fire place was roaring). Can’t wait to come back to Moggs!
Moggs have been serving amazing meals for more than 20 years yet this is the first time we have been able to get a booking for lunch on a Saturday. We were delighted to be welcomed in this fascinating country venue with pine cones and egg boxes for ceilings! The starters included Carrot and cardomum soup, beetroot fritter stack and mixed seafood pancake. These starters were all delicious and tasty. We had lamb shanks, duck pie and pork belly for mains all of which were exceptional. The lamb was rich and tasty with a dark brown gravy served on a tasty mash potato base. We only had one dessert between 4 of us, the dark chocolate tart which we shared. Overall a great marlin a great venue.
Real, satisfying food with layers of flavour served in an easy-going, unpretentious setting. I had the greenpea soup which was creamy and delicious. Followed by a rich, comforting short rib on mash. The service is warm and attentive without being intrusive.I am already looking forward to our return visit.
