Sweet little place but my goodness it is TINY! There is an open kitchen with only 3 tables and a bench by the window overlooking the street. So it’s very cramped inside. The decor is white and red and dotted with paintings and sentimental bits and bobs all over. Security is also a thing – the staff member had to buzz us in. There is ample parking across the road though so that’s a plus. I kept it simple and just ordered a coffee and sweet treat before having to rush off again. My iced coffee was pretty good! The open kitchen concept is cool here because you can see the staff at work and they chat to you while doing so. We also got a carrot cake to share. The cake was decent but I didn’t like the raisins in it and also felt the icing to be extremely sweet. I find the prices to be fair and also see that they run some great breakfast specials too!The guy who helped us was really friendly, chatty and knew the menu well. Might give it another try if I’m in the area again.
A real gem of a coffee shop in Rondebosch is Caffe Sienna which been so keen to go to as our daughter’s name is Sienna. Delish banting friendly eggs Benedict I had as English muffins had sold out. Owner Kim is hands on and friendly. Named after her daughter this place is small yet awesome. Definitely will go back 🙂
What a sweet little place. Open kitchen and a handful of tables make for personalized attention. We went for a run and ended up here – ordered the breakfast special (eggs, bacon, tomato and toast WITH coffee) , the anchovy toast was just what the dr ordered and the cappuccino one of the best I’ve had. All that came to R100 (which includes tip) – where else in the city can you have a wonderful little breakfast for two for that price? I look forward to many more coffees there 🙂
Early morning pre-cricket orange juice and smoked chicken tramazzini. Ingredients were very good – smoked chicken, perfect avo, mozzarella, tomato, and pesto. Much better than I expected, and will get back
