To start things off our waiter was hands down the best, he listened attentively to all our requests and gave the best suggestions. I’d like to thank him for the best customer service I’ve experienced in a while.I chose to have a Mango G&T and let me tell you, it definitely has that well needed kick but the Mango definitely softens the kick. I’d recommend you come over for their happy hour you won’t be disappointed.It is a bar set up so don’t be expecting a fancy interior but they could do with a revamp as the couches and place is looking a bit tired. This is the only reason I could not rate this place five stars.The quesadias blowed us away, we had the pulled pork version and man I can’t get the thought or taste of it out of my head. We were literally murmuring through every single bite. This must be what heaven tastes like if we could have a taste of it. That for me was the highlight of my entire Down South experience.Portion size is great, definitely value for money.It is quite quiet on a Sunday afternoon but we were told if we are looking for a more of a vibe Friday and Saturday night are it.Overall I’d go so far as saying that this place is definitely a gem in Cape Town.

Down South definitely provides value for money with their generous portions. A crowd favorite is the breakfast special available until 12pm. I ordered the blueberry flapjacks topped with a side of bacon. The flapjacks were filling while still maintaining that fluffy soft texture accompanied by a sweet blueberry sauce. However the sweetness became overwhelming after a while. However I still enjoyed my dish and received lovely service✨
