Saving everyone else the grief and effort of searching for this restaurant – this place has closed down, and has now been replaced by ShangHai Makimono in the same location. The people running the new spot seem friendly enough, the premises are nice and clean, and the prices are reasonable.
Couldn’t find it, staff unable to give directions. Wandered around in the dark and were accosted by taxi drivers and beggars who refused to leave us alone. Poor show, don’t care how good the food is.
Food: Large portions. Affordable. Tastes great. Only downside is they don’t have sushi.Service: Bit slow sometimes but worth the wait. Ambiance: It’s in a rather inconspicuous location. The inside is small, quaint and clean. Recommendations: The dumplings.
My word – every time I visit this little gem – I am transplanted right back to 2004 when I visited China for 6 weeks.I love the traditional Chinese food and healthy way of preparing it.The friendly & caring way the owners prepare and serve their food.The pan fried dumplings and won ton soup makes me happy every timeI prefer sit down to take away – you alway in good spirits when finished.I would recommend you visit this little gem & if you prefer an alcoholic drink – take your own – they not licensed.
Food is great & very affordable! If you are on a budget & looking for a Chinese treat, go to Doyu, Mr. & Mrs. Zheng have all that you need!!
