Had a lovely lunch at Michaels today. Conveniently situated close to Rondebosch Common, so I could have a good guiltless lunch after a 5km walk. I opted for the calamari and chorizo salad, whixh was lovely. My friend had the focaccia, which i must say, looked enviously good, but so filled with carbs, i couldn’t bring myself to beg for a slice. Especially after my walk. We also had tge the house red wine, which was one of the mist delicious merlots ive had in a wjile, and a nixe full glass too. To end off we had creme brulet and chocolate brownie which was pretty average, but i really enjoyed the lunch and plan on doing this more often for sure.
Visited Michael’s today (Friday, 2 March 2018) at 13.30. Service from Natasha (name on bill) was very poor.Took a while for her to take our orders. Heavy handed when placing drinks on the table. Did not remove empty glasses, did not attend to us at all but was all smiles and jokes when she brought the bill (although it was not requested of yet). Hake and chips – average tasting at R85, chips were over salted.Margherita pizza was average tasting at R70.The service completely put us off and we were left feeling extremely dissatisfied. One of the first times my partner and I have not tipped a server. But we feel no guilt due to the fact that the service was so poor. Will not be returning
Awesome venue. Food is great and the service is impeccable. Staff are very friendly. The minute you enter the door you are attended to. The vibe is great as it’s fairly busy in the week during the lunch period.
Michaels is the best place ever! The food and people are incredible, a great place to stop off for breakfast on a Saturday morning or to grab a bite in the evening. This is a must try!
I just have to say that your staff are amazing. The extra things I saw them do while serving us was really impressive. They take there job really serious and made for such a pleasant experience. Thank you
