I struggle to find halal restaurants and I was so excited to try Mezbaan and I was disappointed. We came for lunch and we were the only people at the restaurant and I expected to see more people since the restaurant is at the Hilton hotel. I looked at the prices and the only thing that excited me was a cape sandwich because it came with fries and my friend said I am paying too much for a sandwich at R135 or so and he had a point. So I had tandoori lamb pita and it was way too small and not filling at all. It tasted ok but nothing special. I have had a better meal for way less and I will not be rushing back. The service was so slow too. We were given menus and not asked what we wanted to drink. We had to keep calling our waiter. Paying R50 rand an hour for packing is also not ideal if you planning on having a long lunch.
Mezbaan is a halal restaurant at the Hilton. Ive had some of their curry and tandoori meals, they were good but not excellent. What really upsets me is the lack of vibe. I do like their mocktails though, those were rather exceptional
