A simpler yet very good outlet. It may only be a bakery by a service station but their food quality is good and it’s coupled with very affordable prices. The menu is good and I particularly liked their bagel. As a dessert, I recommend trying their cheese cake.. arguably the best cheese cake I ever tried. Attention should be given to the service though. Although the lady that served us (I think her name was Sarah) was brilliant and very active, she was the only one having to serve more than 30 people at the time, and the waiting times were long.
The bakery produces excellent bread, there is no doubt and what’s of value is that it’s served in an hygienic way (gloves and tongs) then you pay at a cashier on the way out. I bought, as take away, an Apple Strudel that I do recommend. Good place for purchasing excellent bread!
Where would you LEAST expect to find a barista who serves good coffee, vegan rotis, tasty mince and chicken samoosas, a selection of freshly baked croissants, tall, light chiffon cakes and THE BEST carrot cake in Sea Point? Clue: they also fill your car. With fuel. The convenience store at the Total Garage. Crazy, but true.We first heard about the bakery when we tasted the cake at a dinner party and had to ask who baked it. Since finding out about the bakery, it’s been our go-to place for confectionery (usually cakes have to be ordered in advance). If you crave a quick cappuccino and a slice of quiche, they have a few tables to sit at (and you can’t smell the fumes). We can also recommend the Custard Slices. Actually, everything we’ve had here has been great.Much more than you’d expect from a mere petrol station! Most unusual venue, but good to have on speed dial when unexpected guests arrive!
