Beautifully decorated and very stylish tasting room with views into production room. Pleasant staff and good service. Personally not my favourite experience but would recommend to pop in atleast once while in Cape Town
We did the tastings as manor house and as we were limited on time, were accommodated to do the optima tastings(usually done @ manor house) in addition to the italian cheese pairing. We were welcomed with some lormarin bubbles. You can seat at a bar round table or coaches in front of fireplace. A number of tastings available. On the cheese tastings, you pair your cheeses according to your taste buds. Lovely display of wine offerings and goodies to purchase. The wines were good as we ended up joining the wine club and making purchases. Bookings are essential as tasting and entrance is by appointment only.
What a fantastic experience! Anthonij Rupert have a modern and fairly unique setting for their wine tasting with cosy dark corners and a brightly lit round bar in the middle The staff are very well trained, extremely well mannered and have a lot of knowledge about the wine and the wine makers family history. Despite it being a very commercial wine farm the setting feels intimate and our lovely waitress Christy made us feel at home as soon as we walked in.Now I better talk about the best part- the cheese and wine experience, I like that they’ve kept a laid back approach and encourage you to try various combinations of cheese and women to make your decision on what you prefer. The Italian cheeses were a nice change, only unfortunate thing was not being able to buy them afterwards. And their wine is such a delight, it’s great that they have a good variety of Italian blends as well as the more well known South African staples. Keep up the good work!
Absolutely beautiful, Anthonij Rupert red wines were amazing and the Victorian house just complements everything. Staff well groomed and very friendly, I will definitely return.
