Walked into a warm restaurant with friendly staff on a rainy day in Franschoek. We were just here for drinks so I was a bit disappointed by their limited hot drinks. Adding to my disappointment was the lack of milk alternatives. Cute place though and service was fast.
The atmosphere is very homey and I like the fact that both indoor and outdoor seating areas were cozy. The menu selection was good and I was pleasantly impressed by the quality of their Trout in butternut sauce and its presentation. However, the service was not up to the standard one would expect and I didn’t feel the staff was attentive enough to our requests Ie: we were brought some bread with butter (5 slices for 9 people) but no plates and, even when we asked for some, they failed to bring them. Prices are fair but I recommend the management invests more in staff training to ensure a better customer experience
Had a quick bite before the chamber music festival this morning. This is the place that is renowned humorously on TripAdvisor for the worst coffee someone had. Lol. I had a scone and my husband had coffee. Illy coffee pretty much, so not quite the best, but not too bad either. Just OK.
Incredibly disappointing. Was here on Sunday for brunch. We were asked to repeat our order three times by three different waiters. Our hot drinks arrived luke warm as did our food. I had a craving for eggs benedict and was thrilled to see it on the menu. When it arrived, my food has obviously been on the pass so long that the hollandaise sauce was hard to differentiate from the yolk in my hard eggs (which I had asked to be medium). It was presented on a dry, tasteless muffin that no one had bothered to butter. Don’t come here. Waste of your time and money.
