Accommodated us so wonderfully last minute on Saturday night with a big table. Food and hospitality absolutely fabulous. Great way to finish off our whirlwind weekend with ONE MORE great meal in Franschhoek.
Always a trustworthy, firm favourite when in Franschhoek. A few changes in the menu would be welcome to keep things interesting. Veal was great. I would recommend when in the mood for an easy dining experience.
Our first night in Franschhoek, at our first restaurant, French Connection. The French is obvious, so is the connection. Straightforward French food, all fresh ingredients. We go in with no reservation, and the floor is full on a Monday night, but they accommodate us nonetheless, with service that is beyond polite.
We had such a special dinner at French Connection. The owner Jason welcomed us and chatted throughout the meal. We had starters of tempura prawns and mussels which were outstanding and we both had fillets for mains served in different styles. I totally recommend this spot for both locals and guests in Franschoek. A wonderful evening, thank you to the hole team
A very personalised experience with intense attention to culinary detail. Booking is very professional and fine dining somewhat without the pompous over the top mannerisms and stiffness. Meals are all super-tasty and the settings and flavour choices are there to tantalize even the most discerning of gastronomics. Atmosphere is aligned to make tourists feel comfortable and it get it completely right. A seating on the verandah is in the perfect place to be seen and enables you to get the fresh air of the Cape in a completely protected environment on Christmas day a 5-course lunch was magnificent. Variations of crispy duck, and the usual Christmas faire were well set up and delivered. The kudu fillet is a signature that gets a mention from friends and was most likely the reason for trying them on Christmas day. Turned out to be a great decision. A good selection of wines on offer but not the best. Service was good and we never found ourselves wanting for anything prior to it being offered. A great experience. .
