The canapé and sparkling wine pairing was incredible!! I absolutely loved this experience and would recommend it to anyone visiting Franshoek!!! There could however be a bit more variety with the sparkling wine.
We tasted the standard with the vintage mcc and even though it was good it was not worth the R300 tasting fee for two. They served us the last bit of the vintage wich unfortunately was flat. The tasting lady luckily rectified this. The tasting room is beautiful and it was a nice atmosphere but the prices are definitely aimed at tourists and we left with a bitter taste in the mouth.
Situated in a picturesque Franschhoek valley is where you will find Le Lude – specialising in the production of Cap Classique. Le Lude exudes elegance with a French inspired tasting room. They only have two bubblies to taste and you have to option to pair them with beautifully presented canapés. The Rosé is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Elegant pink in colour with berry aromas. Fresh, bold and supported by elegant acidity. A lovely MCC that can be enjoyed at any occasion. The Brut is aromatic, fresh, delicious yet tangy. A blend of more Chardonnay than Pinot Noir. The let down of our visit was the staff making a mockery of hubby’s Aussie accent which was uncalled for.
