“Average” sums up this place well. We had a small breakfast here before boarding the wine tram. We ordered the croissant basket and a scone. These came with small amounts of cheese, butter, strawberry jam and cream. The croissants and scones were quite large (enough for three people to share) but the accompaniments so small that they were finished in no time. The butter was not room temperature and therefore very difficult to spread. The scone was lukewarm and extremely crumbly (which I’m sure some people like). The coffee menu is limited and they don’t offer milk alternatives which is a bit disappointing. I will say that service was good and our orders came within 10-15mins which was appreciated.

Arrived for lunch earlier today, a lot of tables were full though there were available tables. Upon arrival we were immediately offered a table and seated, we were then ignored by all waiting staff for the next 10 minutes at which time we decided to leave. We opted for lunch at Leopards Leap as an alternative.
It’s been about a year since I last was here. The place has changed a lot and has lost a bit of its charm. I liked that the store in the past sold produce from the area – almost like a mini market, the store has since been cleaned up and streamlined. As for the food, I remember their platters being too notch with more than enough bread (and varieties of) to make use of all the nibbles on the board. This time the board was a bit bland in terms of variety and delivery not something I would consider okay for an area dubbed one of the foodie capitals of the Western Cape. The also didn’t have the fudge Picasso cake which was like theeeeee main reason I came back. Maybe it’s a seasonal thing but I’m a big fan of consistency of tourism (even me I like to be a tourist in my own country thanks).
