Came here with my husbands car club. Ordered a mixed platter (gamon , salad and cheese) and it was the most horrific meal I’ve been served in a restaurant- 1 sliver of gamon and moldy cheese. If I could give less than 1 star I would.Waitress was also not friendly at all.
My second visit to thisdelightful eaterie turned out even better than the first and because the insiderestaurant was full (dual birthday celebrations), we were placed outside underumbrellas and thus shaded from the summer sun.Two different kinds of homemade bread set the tone for what was to be an excellentgood-value-for-money eating experience. The mushroom starter was so large that one in our party of three cancelled hermain course. On my previous visit I had been so impressed with the lentil soupthat this time I ordered the tomato soup – and it lived up to expectations. Mycalamari salad was huge; Keith’s chicken pie came with potato wedges, sweetpotatoes (yams), peas and carrots and, I was told, was scrumptious. No room for dessert but a cup of coffee went down well (could have beenstronger).I ask you: where today (anywhere, let alone in the winelands) can you buy abottle of chardonnay for R65,00 (R16,00 a glass) ? And served up with a bigsmile by Alexia.
