My husband was giddy with delight to take us (group of five) to Jordan’s restaurant in Stellenbosch. We were a bit unsure he knew where to go as we meandered through the farmlands to get to the restaurant. We parked the car then walked to the restaurant. We were quickly shown to our table. We were the first customers of the evening. The view was spectacular! We were there at the perfect time, 6pm.We all decided we would do the three-course meal. We chose a red wine once again but I cannot remember which one. They brought lovely bread to our table. It was beautifully arranged on a wooden board with a crispy vegetable on top and I think, an aioli. It was good. I could have eaten that and not eaten anymore but thankfully, we did.The starter I chose was asparagus. It had perfectly piped circles of a mustard type sauce, small circles of mozarella artfully and tastefully arranged on top and around the gorgeously cooked asparagus spears. My husband ordered the seared duck breast starter and was in heaven! He loves duck and was delighted with the presentation and the flavor of the duck. Our friend ordered the artichoke starter and did not enjoy it. He thinks that the artichoke was a bit bitter in the manner in which it was cooked. But, he did enjoy the rest of his meal. The mains were not a disappointment. We were also given table salad to share. It was an addition to the cost of the three course meal. I chose the Aged Chalmar rump, baked and creamed cauliflower, charred onion and pepper sauce. I was delighted not only with the presentation but it was perfectly cooked to medium-rare. Anything else would have been sacrilege. The flavor was robust and gentle all at once. I couldn’t have been happier! Flavorful and art all joined together on a plate. We went on to our desserts. I chose the mascerated strawberries. I did find it a tad sweet but still delicious. My husband ordered the orange soufleé. He found his also very sweet but the ice cream helped to dilute the sweetness. Sure, a few thing need tweaking but overall, this restuarant is beautiful!! You will not be disappointed by the quality of the food. Treat yourself and go!

You always expect a restaurant of this nature to be good but this one just reestablish the concept of high standards in all categories – the setting, the service, the visual preparation and the quality of the dishes. If you ever visit Stellenbosch and is looking for a restaurant make sure this one is on your list. O yes make sure you there before the sun sets! Romance heaven!
