Celebrated mums 88th bday last Sunday at this very friendly eatery.atmosphere and ambrience were great.seated at the window we viewed table mountain and surroundings.. Beautiful.Lunch : crispy pork belly, eisbein,succulent lamb shank, prawns, seafood pasta ,medium rare rump and chicken schnitzel were accompanied by mash, salads,crispy chips and veg.All the meals were beautifully presented and lip smackingly good.I felt that the accompaniments were on the over generous size which can distract from the main protein. Drinks were beer ,Klein’s zalze red, passion fruit and gin and tonic.Service was swift, courteous and knowledgeable. The front of house lady was friendly and attentive to all tables.Value for money – yes for the large potions you get,definitely.The bill with tip came to R1504. Being on entertainer it was a steal.Will I be back? Most def. To sample their burgers and pizza as the sun sets over this tranquil restaurant.
My husband and I had an amazing experience here last night. Very cozy (with two log fires ) and peaceful ambiance inside (our 4 month old baby slept soundly through most of our meal). My husband ordered a delicious lamb shank, and I had a fantastically cooked, juicy and tender Fillet Bearnaise (they didn’t bring a steak knife, clearly aware of their high quality meats). I’m a lover of Malva, and thought I had mastered the recipe in my kitchen, but theirs is by far the tastiest I have encountered. If visiting for dinner, I suggest booking for 30 minutes before sunset – the view of the mountain is breathtakingly beautiful. Will recommend this place to family and friends!
We had the lamb shank which fell off the bone, served with creamy mash and veg which had the very specific taste that only comes with wood fire roasted food. The food was also prepared timeously. The foccacia starter was satisfactory although the base really could have been a bit thicker. The outside patio lacks ambiance and the wooden seating is less than comfortable. The wait staff were polite and friendly. All in all, not a bad experience.
The biggest issue for me is that the meal was not value for money. My expectations of La Pineta were far higher than what we received.
