Had lunch there this afternoon. Fantastic food, including a brilliant baked cheesecake, and great service. The venue, which is outside under umbrellas on a dam looking up onto Helderberg, has to be seen to be believed.
Did the wine tasting first which then followed on with lunch. A delicious chicken burger accompanied with fries. Loved that it was on a brioche bun instead of the usual ones. The service was great and the view is fantastic. I mean what more could you ask for on a beautiful summers day in Cape Town.
Just had personal wine tasting from the winemakers brother himself. 😛 They really put a lot of effort into the tasting. The rest of the staff are also extremely friendly to add to the picturesque setting. As a wine choice go for the cabernet sauvignion.
This is a classic bistro with a relatively limited menu. My dad had a delicious burger on a homemade bun with some yummy crunchy chips. The salad was also great. When we asked for mayo they actually made some for us from scratch, which I think is a great touch. There was a small selection of wine (red white and bubbly), all their own label wines which are reasonably priced. The ambiance was good, scenery fantastic and the waitress (Grace) was keen, polite and friendly. We will definitely be coming back.
